After the successful first cycle of seminars of Art in Progress on “Theory of Modern Art” opens a new cycle of seminars in art history and philosophy of aesthetics.
The title of the new seminar: “art and culture in the modern era”.
The Art in Progress conducted the only Ιnternational Contemporary Αrt Festival | RE-culture in Patras, it opens its doors to a theoretical empowerment initiative of our citizens.
The speakers noted: “In the modern era the art in its various forms, from large-scale architecture to the incomprehensible for many works of contemporary art, there is a novel culture condition and culture. This condition is determined by metropolitan phenomena, the global spread of technical psifiakotitas and media as well as by shifts in cultural values. The purpose of this seminar is to highlight the new culture and art phyla as formed in the dynamic globalization, between center and periphery, individual and mass. With references to the different areas of creation would focus on how art recruitment and understanding the modern world, as he and the new way of admission of art in everyday life and public space. It will provide help for those involved in cultural management, architecture and theory of modern art”.

The sessions will be conducted in vinotheque VINUM (Karaiskaki 146 – Patras).

The seminar will include six two-hour sessions with an equal number of topics:
March 19 at 18:00 – Hybrids of globalization
March 26 at 18:00 – Art and memory
April 2 at 18:00    –   The strength of the subculture
April 9 at 18:00    –   The territory of the picture
April 16 at 18:00   –   Ηipsterism – cultural mindset of the 21st century
April 23 at 18:00   –  Art in the biotechnology era
